The St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club, which opened in 1924, has become a popular spot for young adults in recent years.

The Tribe, the young adult group of the Jewish Federation of Florida’s Gulf Coast, is planning an outing to the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club on Thursday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.

“During these uncertain times we have looked at a variety of outdoor activities that would make our young adult community feel safe, yet give them the opportunity to engage with each other in person. We are excited about this shuffleboard event and look forward to a wonderful evening for all who attend,” said Jennifer W. Antonucci, director of philanthropy for the Federation. The Tribe is open to those from age 21 to 45.

“The St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club is the oldest and largest shuffleboard club in the world. We are looking forward to collaborating on an event with the Tribe and the Jewish community,” said Lewis Chazan, Tribe and St. Pete Shuffleboard Club member.

There is no charge to attend, but donations are always appreciated, and can be made at JewishGulf- Coast.org/donate.

St. Pete Shuffle is BYOB. There will be no refreshments provided. To register, go to www.Jewish- GulfCoast.org/shuffle, and email Jennifer@JewishGulfCoast.org with any questions

The Shuffleboard Club is located at 559 Mirror Lake Drive N., St. Petersburg, across from the Coliseum.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Federation is asking attendees of in-person events to wear masks throughout the duration, regardless of vaccination status.
