SHEILA MANDELBAUM, 80, of Pinellas Park, died Sept. 9. She was originally from Brooklyn. Survivors include her daughter Jennifer; son-in-law Thomas Selle; and one granddaughter. (David C. Gross Funeral Home)

MARILYN ‘MIMA’ NYE, 95, of Seminole, died Sept. 5. Originally from Flatbush in Brooklyn, NY, she graduated from high school at the age of 16 and attended Brooklyn College to study accounting. She took bookkeeping classes in the morning, worked at Walbown’s Grocery in the afternoon and attended college classes at night. She moved to Daytona Beach when she was 19 and worked as a bookkeeper at Robertson Auto Supply. During tax season she worked for accounting firms and was a comptroller at the Ormond Beach Hotel for 12 years. She and her late husband, Allan, were married for 64 years. She was very involved with the Jewish Federation, Hadassah and Temple Israel in Daytona Beach, where she held positions of temple vice-president and president of the Sisterhood. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Glenn and Madge Nye; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Brent Sembler; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials to the Marilyn and Allan Nye Holiday Luncheons at the Jewish Federation of Volusia & Flagler Counties. (David C. Gross Funeral Home)
