Federation to host program by group that educates students on Israel, antisemitism

StandWithUs, an international organization that works to educate people about Israel and fights antisemitism, is coming to Pinellas County on Dec. 5.

Sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Florida’s Gulf Coast, the presentation, “Why StandWithUs – An Exclusive Look into How We Work With Students,” is targeted to anyone who is concerned about antisemitism and how we can educate ourselves and others.

The program will be held on Monday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. in the offices of the Jewish Federation, 13191 Starkey Road, Suite 8, Largo. Three StandWithUs representatives will be on hand: Campus Southeast Regional Manager Jess Green and Florida High School Regional Manager Ahron Levin and Jake Shapiro, StandWithUs regional director.

StandWithUs offers leadership training and educational programs on hundreds of college campuses, high schools, and middle schools. The non-partisan organization was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Los Angeles.

In Florida, the organization’s signature Middle School LINK Program has been implemented at 29 day school and supplemental middle schools in Florida. Through project-based learning, educational games, and first-person videos, students are able to discover their unique Israel connection.

There is no charge to attend the Dec. 5 program, however registration is required. To RSVP, contact Maxine Kaufman, mkaufman@jewishguilfcoast.org or call (727) 333-3106. Seating is limited. Light refreshments will be served
