Explore the psalms: There are 150 psalms combining the “Life, People and Land of Israel” with human emotions. A class led by Johanna Bromberg will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. at the synagogue library will explore the psalms in detail. Students will be encouraged to select a personal favorite and discuss their understanding of its meaning.

Talmud classes: On Mondays and most Wednesdays, explore ancient legal tradition with Dr. Priscilla Nathanson. The class is open to all levels of knowledge. The Monday class is held after minyan from 10 - 11:15 a.m. and Wednesday class is at 7 p.m.

Lox & Learn: Explore the treasures of the weekly Torah portion, led by Rabbi David Weizman, every Thursday. Come for breakfast at 9:45 a.m., minyan at 10 a.m., then discussion with the rabbi.

Women’s study group: The Rosh Chodesh women’s study group will meet on Sunday. Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. at a site not at the synagogue.

Seniors at leisure: On the second Thursday of the month at 1 p.m. seniors can spend an afternoon of camaraderie as they discover the role Judaism played in the journeys they took in their lives and careers. Participants will play What’s My Line as they learn more about their fellow congregants. The program will include refreshments and schmoozing, as well as mah jongg, bridge or card games and sharing of hobbies. At some meetings there will be guest speakers or entertainment.

Shabbat unplugged: Take in a relaxing, acoustical evening as you bring in Shabbat on Friday, Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Torah study: Take part in an interactive conversation about the weekly Torah portion on Saturday, Dec. 22 at noon with Jason Palmer. The session will include historical and contemporary reference material. All are welcome.
