Community members invited to living will workshops

In conjunction with a research study to identify how to reduce barriers for Jewish community members in completing advance care directives and living wills, Empath Health is conducting seminars throughout Pinellas County.

Participants will attend a workshop, receive a free legal living will as well as educational materials and a small thank you gift. Refreshments will be served.

Upcoming workshops will be at:

• Temple Beth-El, 400 S. Pasadena Ave. S., St. Petersburg, on Thursday, June 1 at noon;

• Jo-El’s Marketplace & Delicatessen, 2619 23rd Ave. N., St. Petersburg, on Monday, June 19 at 3 p.m.;

• Harmony Home Health, 13787 Belcher Road, Suite 220, Largo, on Wednesday, June 21 at 5:45 p.m.

Through Suncoast Hospice, Empath Health received a grant to support the project from the Florida Hospice and Palliative Care Association. National statistics show members of the Jewish community have low participation in advance care planning.

Registration for the workshops are required and participation is limited. To RSVP and for more information, call Kelly Siegel at (727) 523-4194.
