Nutritionist talk: The North Pinellas Chapter of Hadassah will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 20 at 11:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Jennifer Masson, a nutritionist and wellness expert. The meeting will be held at Temple Ahavat Shalom, 1575 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor. Participants are asked to being a bagged lunch. Coffee and dessert will be provided.

Planned Parenthood speaker: The Lylah Pinellas Hadassah chapter will host Planned Parenthood representative Jan Chester at a meeting at the home of a Hadassah chapter member on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. Chester will discuss challenges faced by Planned Parenthood and the political climate in Florida. Award dinner: The St. Petersburg Chapter of Hadassah will honor Laurie Reiskind with the Myrtle Wreath Award for her years of dedicated service to Hadassah. The ceremony will take place during a dinner at the Bayou Club, 7979 Bayou Club Blvd., Largo, on Sunday, March 19 at 6 p.m. Reiskind has devoted her time to causes in and out of the local Jewish community. A past president and longtime board member of Congregation B’nai Israel in St. Petersburg, she and her husband, Marc, were honored by Israel Bonds for their support of Israel. She has served in a variety of leadership positions with Hadassah and has been a Keeper of the Gate since its inception in the St. Petersburg Chapter and in honor of her 50th birthday, her parents, Sandy and Mike Slomka, made her a Centennial Founder. She is a member of the Jewish Family Services Council of Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services and on the Shorecrest Prep Alumni Association executive board.

Guide to research: The Jewish

Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay will conclude a two-session seminar titled: “The JGSTB 2017 Guide to Jewish Genealogy Research: A Foundation for Beginners and an Update for Experienced Researchers” on Sunday, March 12 at 2 p.m. at Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services, 14041 Icot Blvd., Clearwater. Registration is at 1:30 p.m. Dr. Emil H. Isaacson, who will lead the seminar, has more than 30 years of experience in genealogy. The seminar is free to members, $25 for non-members, or $35 for a family. The charge includes an annual membership. Career counseling: Free personalized job-search and career coaching is offered in sessions called Monday Morning Links on Mondays (except for holidays) from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Jack Roth Center for Career Development at TampaBay-Job-Links, 4100 W. Kennedy Blvd., Suite 206, Tampa. On Monday, Feb. 20 the topic is “The Power of Resilience: How to Bounce Back and Stay Positive” and on Monday, Feb. 27 the topic is “How to Ace a Telephone or Skype Interview.” The Links sessions are geared toward those seeking professional employment. Monday Morning LINKS is supported by the Vinik Family Foundation.

There are also be Success workshops on select Thursdays that are free for Tampa Bay Job-Links program participants and $15 for guests. On Feb. 23 the workshop topic will be “Five Steps to Sucessfully Negotiate a Job Offer.”

Support groups

Alzheimer’s caregiver groups: Menorah Manor offers a support group meeting in the Samson Nursing Center at Menorah Manor, 255 59th St. N., St. Petersburg, on the first Thursday of the month from 3:30-5 p.m.

The Inn on the Pond and Alzheimer’s Association offer a support group on the last Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Inn on the Pond, 2010 Greenbriar, Clearwater.
