Women invited to come together to bake challah

Women of all ages, including girls 12 and up with adult supervision, are invited to participate in the second annual Mega Challah Bake on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Club at Treasure Island, 400 Treasure Island Causeway.

More than 100 women attended last year and a larger crowd is expected this year to make use of 600 pounds or flour, 400 eggs and 1 million sesame seeds.

The women and girls will make their own challah dough and take two loaves of challah to bake at home. Table captains will assist and whether the participants bake challah regularly or not, a stress-free, hands-on baking experience is guaranteed – with plenty of time for schmoozing and a chance to learn more about the origins of challah.

The Chabad Jewish Center of St. Petersburg, Jewish Federation of Pinellas & Pasco Counties, Hadassah, St. Pete Wealth Management group at Raymond James - Marcia Person, and the Club at Treasure Island have joined hands to sponsor the Challah Bake.

The cost is $20 and reservations are required. For more information or to RSVP, call Chaya Korf at (727) 344-4900 or visit
