2 temples offer adult education classes

Temple Beth-El in St. Petersburg and Temple B’nai Israel in Clearwater are combining to offer adult education classs on Israel and Jewish values.

Called “iEngage,” the program of classes was created by the Shalom Hartman Institure, a center in Israel focused on facilitating conversations about Judaism, religious pluralism and Israel. In conjunction with Temple Beth-El, iEngage, explores the significance of Israel for Jewish life today.

Rabbi Daniel Treiser of Temple B’nai Israel will teach the first semester of classes on Tuesdays from Oct, 25 through Jan. 10 from 7-9 p.m. Those classes will be at Temple B’nai Israel.

The second semester will be taught by Temple Beth-El’s Rabbi Michael Torop on Thursdays from Feb. 9 to May 25, at Beth-El. This program is open to all members of the Jewish community at no cost, thanks to a partnership with the Jewish Federation of Pinellas & Pasco Counties.
