Seeking presidents: The St. Petersburg Chapter of Hadassah will honor all past group and chapter presidents at a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at Congregation B’nai Israel, 300 58th St. N., St. Petersburg. Membership meeting: The North Pinellas Chapter of Hadassah will hold its annual membership appreciation luncheon to Monday, Oct. 31 at 11:30 a.m. at Temple Ahavat Shalom, 1575 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor. All life members, annual paid-up members, associates and prospective members are invited to attend. A donation of $5 will be collected at the door. Reservations are a must. Genealogical Society

Research aid: Guest speaker Drew Smith will talk about “Your Ancestor’s FAN Club: Using Cluster Research to Get Past Brick Walls” at the next meeting of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay on Sunday, Nov. 13. The society meets at Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services, 14041 Icot Blvd., Clearwater, with refreshments and library access at 1:30 p.m. and the featured program at 2 p.m. Researchers often run into problems when trying to research a particular ancestor through direct means. In this presentation, attendees will learn techniques around that to discover new information about their ancestors. Smith is well known in local and national genealogical circles and is an assistant librarian with the USF Tampa Library. The meeting is open to the public and is free of charge. Career counseling: A free educational and motivational program for job seekers, conducted by a career coach, is offered on Mondays (except for holidays) from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Jack Roth Center for Career Development at TampaBay-Job- Links, 4100 W. Kennedy Blvd., Suite 206, Tampa. The LINKS sessions are geared toward those seeking professional employment. The topic for Oct. 17 is “8 Strategies to Negotiate a Job Offer.” The Oct. 24 topic is “Interview Questions That Put You Ahead of the Competition,” and the Oct. 31 topic is “The Holidays – a World of Opportunity.” RSVP is required. Support groups

Alzheimer’s caregiver groups: Menorah Manor’s Bresler Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Program offers a support group meeting in the Samson Nursing Center at Menorah Manor, 255 59th St. N., St. Petersburg, on the first Thursday of the month from 3:30-5 p.m.

The Inn on the Pond and the Alzheimer’s Association offer a support group meeting on the last Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Inn on the Pond, 2010 Greenbriar Blvd., Clearwater. For more information, call Gwen Kaldenberg, at (727) 302-3750.
