Family friendly Sukkot: Participate in a family Sukkot celebration on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 3:30 p.m. Each family can decorate a kite with special prayers and blessings for the New Year, then fly it. Participants will also create decorations for the temple’s sukkah, learn how to say the blessings and shake the lulav and etrog, then enjoy a lulav shake. Afterward everyone is invited for dinner in the sukkah from 4-7 p.m. with meals offered at a food truck rally. Thanks to a member of the community, each participant will get a $10 food voucher.

Friday Night Live: Participate in a Shabbat service and chai mitzvah celebration and oneg on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. when the Jammin’ Jews bring the energy and deliver the prayer.

Tot Sukkot: This event, for children up to age 5 and their families, will he held in a neighborhood sukkah on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 5-6:30 p.m. For details, contact Stacy at

Consecration and Simchat Torah: There will be a celebration to dance with the Torah scrolls, led by religious school classes on Sunday, Oct. 23 in the sanctuary. B’nai mitzvah students from 5776 will read from the Torah while it is being unrolled. Stick around for a nosh at noon, catered by the Boyz in the Hood. A Consecration Simchat Torah service will take place immediately afterward.

Yizkor: A Shemini Atzeret/ Simchat Torah Yizkor service will be held on Monday, Oct. 24 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the temple in remembrance of loved ones who have died.

L’Chaim luncheon: Pinellas County School Board member Linda Lerner will be guest speaker at a luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 3 from noon to 2 p.m. in the temple library to discuss “What you’ve always wanted to know about the Pinellas County School Board.” Bring your own lunch, or let the temple order it for you ($15 per person). Includes choice of sandwich: roasted turkey, tuna salad or Mediterranean veggie. RSVP by Tuesday, Nov. 1 to (727) 347-6136.

Camp Shabbat: The BEEFY youth group will lead a “camp themed” Shabbat service, complete with Camp Coleman inspired prayers, reading and music on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m., followed by an oneg.

Jewish meditation: A guided meditation group with Jewish themes for spiritual development will he held with Marshall Reissman every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the BEEFY lounge. This group is for those seeking to enhance their relationship with God.
