Hadassah

Membership Pinellas Chapter of Hadassah will hold its annual membership appreciation luncheon on Monday, Sept. 19 at 11:30 a.m. at Temple Ahavat Shalom, 1575 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor. All life members, annual paid-up members, associates and prospective members are invited to attend. A donation of $5 will be collected at the door. Reservations are a must. Seeking presidents: The St. Petersburg Chapter of Hadassah will honor all past group and chapter presidents at a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at Congregation B’nai Israel, 300 58th St. N., St. Petersburg. Suggested donation is $10. Any member who has served as president of a local chapter/group or out of town chapter/group should contact Laurie Reiskind as soon as possible at LaurieSR@tampabay.rr.com or (727) 521-0918. Genealogical Society

Cemetery research: Bill Israel, longtime member and past president of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay will speak to the society on Sunday, Oct. 9, on “Cemetery Research using the Jewish Online Worldwide Burial Registry.” The registry’s database includes nearly 3 million Jewish burial records from 6,300 cemeteries in 123 countries. There will be a social with refreshments and library access at 1:30 p.m. and Israel will speak at 2 p.m. The meeting is at Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services, 14041 Icot Blvd., Clearwater. Anyone interested in Jewish genealogical research is invited to the meeting, which is free of charge. For more information, call Bruce Hadburg at (727) 796-7981.

Career counseling: A free educational and motivational program for job seekers, conducted by a career coach, is offered on Mondays (except for holidays) at the Jack Roth Center for Career Development at TampaBay-Job-Links, 4100 W. Kennedy Blvd., Suite 206, Tampa. The LINKS sessions are geared toward those seeking professional employment. Each week a different topic is covered. RSVP is required. Support groups

Alzheimer’s caregiver groups: Menorah Manor’s Bresler Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Program offers a support group meeting in the Samson Nursing Center at Menorah Manor, 255 59th St. N., St. Petersburg, on the first Thursday of the month from 3:30-5 p.m.

The Inn on the Pond and the Alzheimer’s Association offer a support group meeting on the last Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Inn on the Pond, 2010 Greenbriar Blvd., Clearwater.
