South Florida rabbi reminisces about Rebbe

Rabbi Sholom Lipskar Rabbi Sholom Lipskar More than 80 people from Pinellas and Hillsborough came together at the Chabad Center in Clearwater to hear Rabbi Sholom Lipskar reminisce about the last Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson. He also presented a synthesis of Torah and science.

Organizers described it as “an evening of inspiration and tribute.”

The event was hosted by Chabad of Clearwater and Chabad of Pinellas County, who brought in Rabbi Lipskar, rabbi of “The Shul” in Bal Harbour. It was held in honor of the Rebbe’s 22nd Yahrtzeit.

Rabbi Shalom Adler, director of Chabad of Pinellas County, explained that this was a particularly opportune time to get together because in the times of the Holy Temple, this year would be a year of Hakhel. This is a time to gather as many people as possible to study Torah and observe mitzvahs.

“Rabbi Lipskar gave me a greater appreciation of the Rebbe,” said one participant, “and he has inspired me to try and live a more meaningfully Jewish life.”
