Temple Ahavat Shalom Palm Harbor

Getting to know you: Get acquainted with Rabbi Gary Klein and members of the temple on Friday, Aug. 26, at a special sunset Shabbat worship service on the Honeymoon Island State Park beach. This service will be followed by a light supper. There is no charge to attend. Call the temple office for details.

Book club: The temple book club will meet on Sunday, July 24 at 10:30 a.m. in the library to discuss The Fall of the House of Speyer: The Story of a Banking Dynasty by George W. Liebmann.

Religious school registration: Temple Ahavat Shalom is now registering pre-k through seventh grade students for its religious school. The first day of religious school is Sunday, Aug. 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For those who will attend eighth grade pre-confirmation, classes begin Monday, Sept. 19, from 7-8:30 p.m. Rabbi Klein’s ninth grade confirmation and 10th- 12th grade senior study classes will begin meeting after the High Holy Days. For the little ones: The temple’s early childhood center is now opening a class for 1-year-olds. Contact Early Childhood Center Director Megan Hill at (727) 785-8811, ext. 3 or preschool@ahavatshalom.org to place your child on our waiting list.

Honey of a deal: The Sisterhood is selling honey for the High Holidays. An 8-oz jar of kosher clover honey will be shipped with a personalized card. Cost is $12 per jar and can be ordered at www.orthoney.com/phf. There is free shipping through July 29. For more information, contact the temple.
