Warren Volunteer of the Year award; and Robert Goldstein, chief executive officer On Wednesday, February 10, 2016, Menorah Manor recognized over 350 active volunteers, including trustees and Guild members, at the 31st Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.

The afternoon began with a heartfelt welcome from Barry Kanner, Esq., Menorah Manor chair. Messages from Robert Goldstein, chief executive officer; Kitty Jacobs, resident council president; Bonnie Berman, director of volunteers; and Barbara Baughman, Menorah Manor Guild president, followed.

In 2009, Dr. Steven Warren established the Gail S. Warren Volunteer Education Endowment Fund in loving memory of his late wife. Gail was Menorah Manor’s director of volunteers for many years and made a major impact on our community. In memory of Gail, an exemplary volunteer is chosen each year. The volunteer is honored with the Gail S. Warren Volunteer of the Year award.

David is an asset to every department at The Marion and Bernard L. Samson Nursing Center and has been volunteering with Menorah Manor for over 20 years. He calls BINGO, visits with residents, delivers mail and flowers to our residents, and shares in holiday celebrations.

Nate and Pearl Brust were named the recipients of the Inn on the Pond Service Award for their countless hours of dedication and volunteerism at The Inn on the Pond. They have taught conversational Yiddish since the day the doors opened at The Inn on the Pond in March of 2012. The award was accepted on their behalf.

The luncheon continued with Outstanding Service Awards presented to Elaine Garon and Dell Krug who have volunteered over 2,500 hours. The Menorah Manor Family would like to thank all of our volunteers who are continually devoted to the residents of Menorah Manor. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of Menorah Manor!
