WILLIAM BERMAN, 83, Clearwater, died Nov. 28. A native of Chicago, he worked for many years in the transportation industry. Survivors include his nephew, Craig Epstein, of California. The family suggests memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project. (David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Clearwater Chapel)

EARL MERCER, 89, of St. Petersburg, died Nov. 28. Born in Maine, he worked for many years in the judicial system. Survivors include his daughter Lynn. (David C. Gross Funeral Homes, St. Petersburg Chapel)

ELEANOR “ELLIE” STRAUSS, 74, of Sarasota, died Nov. 30. She was born in Chelsea, MA, and raised her family in Peabody, MA. Survivors include her children, Jeffrey, Alan, Shelley and Susie; eight brothers and sisters, and seven grandchildren. (Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home)

SIDNEY YANCHUCK, 94, of Atlanta, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Nov. 20. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in St. Petersburg for many years before moving to Alpharetta, GA. He was a retired insurance agent, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a former member of Congregation B’nai Israel in St. Petersburg. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Yanchuck; two daughters, Arleen Poston, and Rita Kessler. The family suggests memorials to Congregation B’nai Israel. (David C.
