Herb Cohen, former Kent Center exec

Herbert Norman Cohen, 72, of Trinity, died Nov. 6. He was born in Chicago, and attended college at Arizona State Univ ersity. He served the Jewish community in various capacities throughout his life. He was the executive director of the Kent Jewish Center from 1991 to 1996, where the preschool students affectionately called him Uncle Herb. He was an avid sports fan. Although most recently a Rays fan he never hid his love for the Cubs, or the other Chicago-area teams. Survivors include his wife, Patricia (D’Amico) Cohen; children; Louis Cohen, of Portland; Ori Cohen, of Boca Raton; Jenn Tran, of Clearwater; Kristin Sapienza, of Cape Coral; and six grandchildren.
