Federation’s campaign launch event at Dali museum Nov. 4

The Jewish Federation of Pinellas & Pasco Counties will hold its campaign launch party, “The Art of Giving,” on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. inside the Salvador Dali Museum in downtown St. Petersburg.

Special guest speaker will be Dr. Lewis Bernstein, who has had a more than 40-year association with Sesame Workshop and the long-running television program, Sesame Street.

Bernstein, currently executive vice president of research and education for Sesame Workshop, took the lead role in the launch of Shalom Sesame and Sha’ra Simsim, the Israeli/Palestinian co-production.

Bernstein will speak on the important dynamic of using an art form to transmit values.

Major donors will be invited to a special pre-reception event within the M.C. Escher exhibit at the Dali. All donors of $5,000 or more, or community members interested in learning more about this giving level, are invited to participate. “These are troubled times. The strength of our Jewish community is in our hands. If we don’t make a difference, no one else will. I’m asking the community to join me in support of our Federation,” said John Rinde, longtime supporter of the Federation and many local Jewish institutions.

Donors to the Federation’s Annual Campaign who make their 2016 commitment of $72 or more by Oct. 31 are invited to attend the event at no charge. For others, tickets are $36. RSVPs are required. For more information, visit www.jewishpinellas.org or call (727) 530-3223.
