Temple Ahavat Shalom Palm Harbor

Brotherhood in charge: There will be a special Shabbat service led by the Brotherhood on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Honoring veterans: There will be a special Shabbat service on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. to honor military veterans. For more information, contact the temple office at (727) 785-8811.

Jewelry and more event: Shop for handmade jewelry designed by Karen Cohen and create hand-painted silk scarves with Marlene Glickman on Sunday, Nov. 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the social hall. This event is sponsored by the Sisterhood. Payment will be by cash or checks only. For more information, call the temple.

Girls’ night out: On Thursday,

Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m. the Sisterhood will host Suzette Roth, who will present “Tapping for Well Being,” a hands-on experience for stress free living.Alight and healthy dinner will be provided. The cost is $10 for Sisterhood members and $12 for non-members. RSVP no later than Nov. 12. Call the temple for more information.

Men’s night out: Men are invited to participate in a trip to Amalie Arena in Tampa on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. to watch the Tampa Bay Lightning take on the New York Rangers. Seating is limited. For more information, contact Warren Goldstein at nasaldoc@verizon.net.

Introduction of Judaism: Rabbi Gary Klein’s Introduction to Judaism class meets on Sundays through the end of the year from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in his study. This class is appropriate for spouses and significant others of Jewish people, those considering adopting Judaism as their faith, and those who are already Jewish who wish to review and enhance their knowledge of Judaism.

Class fee is $100 per person or couple for non-members. There is no fee for temple members. For more information or to register, call the temple office.

Torah study: A Lunch N’ Learn Torah study class with Cantor Deborah Jacobson meets on Thursdays at noon in the social hall. This class uses the book, The Torah: A Women’s Commentary as well as other Biblical commentaries and resources. For details and to order the book, email cantor@ahavatshalom.org or call the temple.
