Veteran’s tribute: The congregation will pay tribute to Jewish War Veterans during Shabbat morning services on Nov. 7. Father Francis Molloy, a distinguished military and VA chaplain at Bay Pines Medical Center will be the special guest speaker at this annual Shabbat celebration.

Havdalah on the beach: The Pinellas Jewish community is invited to Havdalah on the Beach Saturday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Upham Beach: 6700 Beach Plaza, St. Pete Beach. Turn west onto 67th Avenue off of Gulf Blvd and drive two blocks. 67th Avenue ends at Upham Beach. Parking meters are $1.25 an hour until 8 p.m. Flashlights are encouraged.

Torah for seniors: Join Rabbi Jacob Luski for Torah discussion at the Philip Benjamin Tower, 250 58th St N, St Petersburg, on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m.

Lunch with the rabbi: There will be a kosher deli lunch and Mishna study with Rabbi Luski on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at noon. RSVP lunch orders to Pam Askin by noon Tuesday, Nov. 10, at (727) 381-4901 or

Talmud made easy: Instructor Steve Wein and his Talmud class continue their study of Sanhedrin along with its selected commentaries on Wednesdays, Nov. 4 and 18 at 7 p.m. in the synagogue library. The classes are in English and materials will be provided. The class involves both textual analysis and discussion, and is open to everybody. No previous knowledge is necessary.
