DAVID SALKE, 86, of St. Petersburg, died Sept. 23. He worked for many years as a financial consultant. (David C. Gross Funeral Homes, St. Petersburg Chapel)

JOHN STRAUSS, 81, of Dunedin, died Sept. 27. He was born in Everette, MA, and grew up in Revere, MA. He was raised in the amusement park industry, spending his summers on the boardwalk in Ocean City, MD, where he and his father would run the bingo and carnival games. He raised his family in Peabody, MA, where he ran a scrap metal business. Involved in music, he played the upright bass, bass guitar and sang. He played in several bands throughout his life, his favorite was “Sony Stevens Swings,” which produced an album. He was a Mason since 1971. Survivors include his four children; two brothers, Robert and Stewart; and seven grandchildren. (David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Clearwater Chapel)

DAIVD WOLK, 66, of St. Pete Beach, died Sept. 28. Survivors include his longtime companion, Irene; sons and daughters-in-law, Joshua and Kari Wolk, and Eli and Tracy Wolk; brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Dawn Wolk. (David C. Gross Funeral Homes, St. Petersburg Chapel)
