Flight of honor

World War II veteran Roy Siegel of St. Petersburg was honored recently with a trip to the Washington War Memorials, sponsored by Honor Flight of West Central Florida. The honor flights are to honor veterans for their service to the nation. A first lieutenant, Siegel was a pilot of the P61 Nightfighters and completed 38 missions to France, Belgium and Germany. He crashed during the Battle of the Bulge and received a Purple Heart award. Siegel’s son, James, lives in Maryland and surprised his father by joining him at the memorials.

P.S. I’d love to hear from you. Send information and photos to: Sincerely Yours, P.O. Box 6970, Clearwater, FL 33758, e-mail jewishpress@aol.com or fax: (727) 530-3039
