Ben Gurion Airport sets record for number of travelers

JERUSALEM (JTA) – Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport is setting records this month.

Nearly 80,000 people flew in and out of the airport on 457 flights on Thursday, Aug. 13, making it the most traveled day ever at the airport.

Some 2 million people were expected to fly in and out of Ben Gurion on international flights during the month of August, making it the most traveled month ever, the business daily Globes reported.

Air traffic was up in July as well, with 20 percent more passengers and 10 percent more flights over the previous year.
