Triple the pomp & circumstance…

Early May proved to be a proud time for parents Larry and Sheryl Feinman of Largo and grandparents Arlene Fiel of Clearwater and Buny Feinman- Braslow of Sun City Center as Larry and Sheryl’s daughter Michaela graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from FSU on May 2, son Matthew graduated with a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh on May 8 and son Alex graduated with a master’s degree from the University of Central Florida on May 9.

Student honored…

Jeremy Reiskind, a sophomore at Rice University, is the recipient of the Morris and Shirley Rapoport Award in Jewish Studies, which is given annually to a student who has done outstanding work in Jewish Studies. He will be honored at a reception on campus during commencement weekend. Jeremy, who is majoring in sports management while minoring in Jewish Studies, was recently elected to be the president of the campus Hillel next year. Kvelling parents and grandparents are Laurie and Marc Reiskind, Sandy and Mike Slomka, all of St. Petersburg, and Arlene and Woody Reiskind of New York.

Audrey Schechter of Clearwater was readmitted to the New York bar a couple of weeks ago. Audrey practicing law in the area of Medicare and Medicaid fraud, working with the New York firm Sadowski Fischer, PLLC.

* * * Lynda Lippman-Lockhart of St. Petersburg has released her first novel, The Laundry Room. Based on actual events, the book follows the lives of several young and idealistic Israelis as they implement the dangerous assignment of establishing a clandestine munitions facility for the emerging nation of Israel. Lynda graduated from the University of Florida and taught English at Seminole High School for 26 years, starting her writing career after retirement. She will be at a book signing at Haslam’s Book Store, 2025 Central Ave., St. Petersburg on Saturday, May 16 at 3 p.m.
