Chanukah billboard reaches drivers on busy U.S. 19

This billboard, which changed daily during Chanukah, was jointly sponsored by Chabad of Clearwater and Chabad of Pinellas County. This billboard, which changed daily during Chanukah, was jointly sponsored by Chabad of Clearwater and Chabad of Pinellas County. A joint Chanukah campaign, the first of its kind here, between Chabad of Clearwater and Chabad of Pinellas County brought the message of Chanukah to thousands of motorists daily on U.S. 19 in Clearwater.

The message on the 14-foot tall, 48-foot wide LCD billboard read “Happy Chanukah from Chabad” and listed the number of candles to light that night with the number of candles in the menorah increasing each day as well.

The billboard was installed just a few weeks before Chanukah. “With LCD billboards somewhat of a rarity in the area, it just struck me as a great idea and thank G-d we were able to pull it off,” said Rabbi Levi Hodakov, director of Chabad of Clearwater. “The response was very good and plans are already in motion for a Pesach campaign.”
