Donations sought to fill shelves of Gulf Coast JFCS ‘Hanukkah Gift Shop,’ brighten holiday for needy

This holiday season Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services is providing clients with the “gift of giving.”

The annual Hanukkah Gift Shop allows those who might otherwise not be able to afford gifts to select items for their family members as well as themselves.

This year’s shop will be open by appointment on Dec. 9-23. There is no charge to clients and there is complete privacy.

Gulf Coast is asking for the community’s help in stocking the Hanukkah Gift Ship with an assortment of new or very gently used gift items for all ages, especially teens, young adults and seniors.

Gift items needed, but not limited to: Judaica, Hanukkah nonperishable food items, pajamas for children, underwear, socks and slippers, full-size toiletries, toys for kids 3-12, bikes, books, and gift cards from Target, Wal-Mart and Rally gas. Of course, checks or cash are always welcome. Donations need to be received by Dec. 5.

Community drop-off locations are Gulf Coast JFS, Chabad of St. Petersburg, Congregation Beth Shalom, Congregation B’nai Emmunah, Congregation B’nai Israel, The Inn on the Pond, JCC of West Pasco, the Jewish Federation of Pinellas & Pasco, Menorah Manor, Philip Benjamin Tower, Temple Ahavat Shalom, Temple Beth-El, and Temple B’nai Israel.

Contact Gail Allen, Family Support Services coordinator, at (727) 479-1806 or to drop off your donations at Gulf Coast JFS, or make an appointment to shop in the gift shop.
