Hadassah

Author to speak: The North Pinellas Chapter of Hadassah will hold its general membership meeting on Monday, Nov. 17 at 11:30 a.m. at Temple Ahavat Shalom. Guest speaker Elaine Fantle Shimberg, author of Growing Up Jewish In Small Town America: A Memoir, will share her unique cultural journey in the ’40s and ’50s in Fort Dodge, IA, and what it was like being a little “different” from her friends.

Those attending should bring a bagged lunch and a non-perishable food item for Florida Cancer Specialist food pantry. Coffee and cake will be provided.

Hadassah members who are also in Needle Clickers are asked to bring their completed knitted and crocheted mitzvah project items to the meeting so the items can be delivered to Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services on Nov. 24. The temple is at 1575 Curlew Road in Palm Harbor.

One Hundred Chai Club lunch: The North Pinellas Chapter of Hadassah’s One Hundred Chai Club luncheon will be at the home of a member on Monday, Dec. 8. This is for Hadassah members who contribute at least $118 to the organization this year. For the location of the member’s home and more information, call Marion at (727) 786-2373.
