Federations hold third annual Tampa Bay Cardozo Society Awards ceremony


The Robbins family: Michael Robbins, Teddi Robbins, honoree David Robbins and Lisa Robbins The Robbins family: Michael Robbins, Teddi Robbins, honoree David Robbins and Lisa Robbins The Jewish Federation of Pinellas & Pasco Counties and the Tampa Jewish Community Center & Federation presented the Tampa Bay Cardozo Leadership Awards to attorneys Michael Kass and David Robbins on Wednesday, Oct. 29.

The awards were presented to Robbins and Kass for their outstanding commitment to the legal community and for their contributions to the Tampa Bay Jewish community.

A capacity crowd of approximately 140 people listened to guest speaker Martin Raffel discuss the assault on Israel’s legitimacy and Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions and how to mount an effective response.

The Cardozo Society and event chairs were Bruce Bokor and Jim Soble for the Pinellas/Pasco Federation and Jonathan Ellis of Tampa.

Rochelle “Shelly” Walk, co-president of the Tampa JCC & Federation presented the award to Michael Kass. Bokor presented the award to David Robbins.


Honoree Michael Kass and wife, Janet Honoree Michael Kass and wife, Janet The event was held at The Bank of Tampa’s office in downtown St. Petersburg, which also served as the sponsor of the event. The bank’s President & Chief Executive Officer Bill West, expressed his appreciation for the relationship the bank has with the Tampa Bay Jewish community.

The Cardozo Society is an honorary society for Jewish attorneys in the Tampa Bay area that aims to celebrate the legal profession’s commitment to the principles of the Federation. The society hosts programs that integrate Jewish and legal concerns and provides educational, leadership, social and networking opportunities for attorneys.
