Holocaust Museum honors Marty Borell

Lisl Schick with Marty Borell Lisl Schick with Marty Borell To honor Marty Borell’s tenure as board chair, the Florida Holocaust Museum threw a party on Oct. 25 and established a scholarship fund in his name.

The scholarship will underwrite admission fees to the Holocaust Museum, located in downtown St. Petersburg, for school classes that might not otherwise be financially able to attend. The party, attended by about 80 people, raised $20,000 for the fund.

“The board and staff are extremely grateful for the leadership and dedication of the museum’s outgoing chair through the most challenging economic period in recent history,” said Elizabeth Gelman, executive director of the museum.

During Borell’s tenure the museum became debtfree while elevating its profile. As the immediate past chair, he remains an officer on the Holocaust Museum board.
