Sixth graders Sarah Weiner, Sadie Jacobson and Ari Solomon enjoy swinging from a rope at the retreat. For two days last month, the entire Hillel Academy Middle School traveled to the DaySpring Conference Center for the annual middle school retreat.

The center, on the north bank of the Manatee River near Ellenton, gave the students the opportunity for personal growth, and to bond and build relationships, particularly with and among the sixth graders who are new to middle school this year. The trip was led and chaperoned by the Middle School faculty.
