‘Monuments Men’ author to speak at Saint Leo University

Robert Edsel, the author of The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History, will speak at Saint Leo University on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. to kick off the University Speaker Series for 2014-2015.

The book was the basis for the popular film directed by George Clooney. Admission to the event is free and all are welcome.

The presentation will take place in the Student Community Center. The campus is at 33701 State Road 52 in the east Pasco County town of Saint Leo, 4 miles east of Interstate 75 (Exit 285).

Edsel’s book is a nonfiction account of a special World War II military unit that saved European art treasures from Nazi looting.
