Temple Ahavat Shalom Palm Harbor

Festival celebration: There will be a Simchat Torah celebration, Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Brotherhood Shabbat: The Brotherhood will lead a special Shabbat service on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. For more information, contact the temple office at (727) 785-8811 or visit www.ahavatshalom.org.

Book club: The temple Book Club will be meeting in the library on Sundays, Oct. 26 and Nov. 16 at 9:30 a.m. At the Oct. 26 meeting the group will discuss Pioneer Jews: A New Life in the Far West, by Harriet Rochlin. For information, contact library@ahavatshalom.org or call the temple office.

Introduction to Judaism: An Introduction to Judaism class will meet Sundays, for 12 weeks, beginning Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. in his study. Lisa Vendeland will be teaching the class the first several weeks and then Rabbi Gary Klein will take over teaching. This class is appropriate for those considering adopting Judaism as their faith, for those in a relationship with someone Jewish and Jews who wish to review and enhance their knowledge. Class fee is $100 per person or couple for non-members. There is no fee for temple members. For more information or to register, call the temple office.

Torah study: Registration is under way for a “Lunch N’ Learn Torah Study Class” with Cantor Deborah Jacobson. Classes begin on Thursday, Oct. 30 at noon and will continue weekly. This class utilizes The Torah: A Women’s Commentary as well as other Biblical commentaries and resources. For details and to order a book, email cantor@ahavatshalom.org or call the temple office.

Dali trip: A trip to the Dali Museum of Art will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be docent led tours of the museum, which will feature a visiting Picasso exhibit. Cost is $26.75 for admission. Lunch will be on your own. RSVP by Oct. 15 to Anne-Marie at anne-mariecumming@tampabay. rr.com.
