Florida Holocaust Museum to hold ‘Party for Marty’ to honor service

Marty Borell Marty Borell The Florida Holocaust Museum is throwing a “Party for Marty” on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 6-9 p.m. to celebrate the contributions of Marty Borell during his five years of service to the museum and Tampa Bay community.

There will be live music, dinner, dancing and diversons at the Mainsail Suites Hotel and Conference Center, 5108 Eisenhower Blvd., Tampa.

During his tenure as chair of the Holocaust Museum board, Borell led the museum through the implementation of a best practices governance structure, a strategic planning process and the selection and on-boarding of a new executive director.

His leadership allowed the museum to become debt-free while elevating its profile, museum officials say.

Borell remains as an officer and is the immediate past chair on the museum’s board.

To honor Borell, the museum has established the Martin H. Borell Scholarship Fund to underwrite admission fees to the museum for school classes that might not otherwise be financially able to attend.

Tickets to the celebration are $75 and sponsorship and ticket opportunities are available.

RSVP to Maria Johnston at (727) 820-0100, ext. 274 or mjohnston@flholocaustmuseum.org.
