Rose Sargowitz celebrated her 101 birthday on July 5th with family and friends. Rose is a resident of Menorah Manor’s Bernard L. Samson Nursing Center in St. Petersburg. Her daughter Marilyn Sapperstein is co-chair of the Menorah Manor Foundation with husband Bernie.

Viola Brodbeck, resident of the Inn on the Pond, recently celebrated her 100th birthday with a special party with family and friends at the Inn on the Pond assisted living facility in Clearwater.


Dr. William Fox of Charlottesville, VA, son of Harvey Fox of Palm Harbor, was recently honored by the American College of Physicians with the Richard Neubauer Advocate for Internal Medicine Award, which annually recognizes a member who has made exceptional contributions to advance the college’s public policy agenda.

Dr. David LeVine of Seminole, was recently honored by two separate organization with humanitarian awards: the Jewish Aging Services Humanitarian Award and the Frist Humanitarian Award from St. Petersburg General Hospital. As a physician, he received the Frist award for displaying a concern for the well being of others beyond his day-to-day clinical responsibilities. For about 15 years, David has volunteered at the St. Petersburg Free Clinic and for six years has volunteered as camp physician at Ramah Darom in Georgia. He also serves as medical director for Menorah Manor and for the past 12 years has provided religious services there on Shabbat and holidays. He is also well-known for leading weekly Israeli folk dancing classes. His wife, Janice, and parents, Dr. and Mrs. Morris LeVine are proud of him.

Dr. Arthur Berman, of Clearwater Beach, founder and president of Florida Center for Gastroenterology, was presented with the 2014 Physician of the Year award from the American Association of Physician Specialists.

Ian Mech Schlifstein, son of Michele Mech Horwitz of Palm Harbor and Brett Schlifstein of Seminole, has been awarded the position of Regimental Commander at Admiral Farragut Academy.

William Fox William Fox Promotion…

Shanna Rosenbluth has been named manager of annual giving at the Glazer Children’s Museum in Tampa. She moved back to the Tampa Bay area and she began working part time at the museum in May 2013. She was promoted to a full-time position on the development team last fall. Her parents, Sue and Jon Rosenbluth, and grandmother Dotty Feinberg, couldn’t be more proud of her accomplishments.
