Bar/Bat Mitzvahs

Saryn Olivia Taylor

Saryn Olivia Taylor, daughter of Robin and Cary Taylor of Palm Harbor, will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, May 3 at Temple Ahavat Shalom in Palm Harbor.

A seventh grade honors student at Palm Harbor Middle School, Saryn was chosen to participate in Battle of the Books, writing a winning essay for an upcoming Earth Day event. Active in karate since she was 4, Saryn practices Isshinryu Karate at Pro Karate Center and has achieved Black Belt rank. She is a board member of NASTY, the Temple Ahavat Shalom Youth Group, and on the editorial board for Yaldah magazine. Saryn’s mitzvah project is a book drive for Be the Match Bone Marrow Foundation and All Children’s Hospital. She has collected more than 1,000 books and already made one donation to the hospital and is still collecting books to make another donation.

Robin and Cary Taylor will host a luncheon at Countryside Country Club on Saturday, May 3.

Special guests will include grandmother Ellyn Kessler of Clearwater and Stephen and Eileen Taylor of Fort Lauderdale, along with family and friends both local and out of state.
