Chanukah HIGHLIGHTS
What an overwhelming community response to our annual Chanukah Gift Bazaar, with donations of clothing, toys, household goods, gift cards and monies totaling over $13,000! A big thank you to the families and individuals who gave to make someone else’s Chanukah extra special. Over 200 people of all ages shopped for gifts for their families. The Chanukah Gift Shop allows families in need to select gifts and bring light into their holiday. Jackelyn Fisher, a recent Bat Mitzvah, made friendship bracelets and Happy Hanukah cards to give to our clients. She wanted to make something for other families to wear. Melissa Steingart and Jason Gray, and their daughters, Julia, 5 and Lucy, 1, said that they were so grateful for Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services when they were in need and it is only right for them to return the favor. They brought in a donation to the Chanukah Gift Bazaar as a way for paying it forward. Many synagogues collected gifts and food during November. Gulf Coast JFCS thanks the community for the kindhearted and generous support!
