Community Women’s Seder April 5 at Beth Shalom

The 13th annual Community Women’s Seder, which aims to bring women of all ages and backgrounds together to pray, sing, dance and celebrate, will he held on Tuesday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Congregation Beth Shalom in Clearwater.

The theme of this year’s Seder is “Coming of Age.” The Seder will be led by Rabbi Danielle Upbin of Congregation Beth Shalom, Cantor Deborah Jacobson of Temple Ahavat Shalom, Cantor Jennifer Duretz- Peled of Temple B’nai Israel, guest soloist Lily Lucey.

Miriam’s Story will be told by teens Jessica Krop, Elana Prieto and Talia Sager of Congregation Beth Shalom, Maya Jacobson of Temple Ahavat Shalom and Mariel Levine of Temple B’nai Israel. A Passover themed vegetarian dinner will be served.

The event draws women from throughout the county each year and in 2005 the Seder won the Jewish Federation’s Annual Yitzhak Rabin Memorial Award for “Program of Distinction.” This year’s Seder chairperson is Cyndi Silverman.

Sponsors of the event include the St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Lylah Pinellas, North Pinellas, and Yachad chapters of Hadassah, the Jewish Federation of Pinellas County, Jewish Women International, JCC Suncoast, the Sisterhoods of Congregation Beth Shalom, Temple B’nai Israel, Temple Ahavat Shalom and Congregation B’nai Israel, Menorah Manor and Charlotte’s Catering.

Reservations are limited to 250 participants and an early bird special of tickets for $18 is offered for those who make reservations by March 29. If there is still room after that date, tickets will be $25. For more information or to RSVP, call (727) 531-1418.
