Talya Elisheva Kohan-Shohet
Talya Elisheva Kohan Shohet, daughter of Stephanie and Keyvan Kohan-Shohet of St. Petersburg, will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, Aug. 28 at Congregation B’nai Israel in St. Petersburg.
Talya is an eighth grade honors student who attended the Pinellas County Jewish Day School and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. She was a first and third place winner of the Science Fair and placed third in the Tropicana Speech Contest. She also is a published poet with a poem titled Fly Free. Active in sports Talya was captain of the Panthers Girls Volleyball Team and a member of the Northwest Softball Team City Tournament Champions. A member of Kadima, Talya also enjoys cooking, swimming and the beach.
Keyvan and Stephanie Kohan-Shohet will host a dinner and dance at Congregation B’nai Israel on Saturday, Aug. 28.
Special guests will include grandparents, Julian Piper and ZoƩ Margolis, Toronto, along with family and friends from North Carolina, Maryland, Texas, Missouri, Florida and Canada.
