Letter to the Editor

In difficult year, Camp Kadima remains bright spot

Dear Editor:

Another summer at Camp Kadima is coming to an end. This past year has marked a difficult time in our community. The Jewish Day School closed and the JCC’s former location (in Clearwater) was torn down and the Community Center relocated. Camp Kadima continues, though, to stand strong as an important place for youth in our area that carries on important values and traditions. It takes its responsibility very seriously.

This summer season at camp was filled with energy, enthusiasm and plain fun! The kids this summer attended trips every week, swimming twice a week, lessons in Israeli martial arts, cooking, science, art, sports, drama, yoga, Israeli culture and special events. The older campers were involved in various service projects and the whole camp participated in Shake it for Shara (a very special service project).

We are extremely lucky to have a dedicated and extremely passionate group of leaders at camp that care so much about our community and youth that they carry on this tradition and provide us with the best camp experience possible.
