Camp Kadima launched the 2010 camp season with a “Super Sundae” party and reunion on Sunday, Feb. 7, at the Pinellas County Jewish Day School (PCJDS).

More than 125 current, future and former campers and their families joined with staff and community members to play football, work on crafts and dig into ice cream sundaes.

Camp Kadima, sponsored by the JCC Suncoast (formerly the JCC of Pinellas County and Golda Meir/Kent Jewish Center), is scheduled to run a six-week program from June 14-July 2 at PCJDS, located at 1775 S. Highland Ave., Clearwater.

Plus, for the first time, Camp Kadima will offer a two-week post-camp program at Temple B’nai Israel, 1865 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater, camp directors Jeff Krieger and Sabrina Sintes announced.

“Not only does this agreement allow us to offer a quality camp program for eight weeks this summer,” said Krieger, “but it also demonstrates what wonderful results can be accomplished when this community works together.”

In an effort to make camp accessible to as many children as possible, free transportation is being offered from the JCC’s north center in Clearwater and south center in St. Petersburg, along with making scholarship funds available. Scholarships will be awarded not only by need, but on a first come, first served basis.
