Fire and ice on Chanukah
At St. Petersburg’s Congregation B’nai Israel Chanukah celebration participants were treated to an evening of festive music, food and fun for all ages.
The highlight of the event, held on the fifth night of the holiday, was the lighting of a Menorah carved out of ice as Rabbi Jacob Luski and each member of the audience lit their own candle.
Hazzan Paul D. Goldstein led a sing-a-long of traditional and modern Chanukah favorites and participants were treated to a free latke and topping bar, sno-cones, doughnuts and hot cocoa. Children decorated candles. which became part of a huge menorah greeting card presented to Menorah Manor.
