Chanukah party in the White House

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama watch as Ethan and Esther Moran, along with their mother Alison Buckholtz, light the candles of a rare silver Chanukah menorah at the Obamas’ first Chanukah party in the White House on Dec. 16, the sixth night of Chanukah. The 1873 masterpiece was on loan at the First Lady’s request from the Jewish Museum in Prague. The museum rescued it from destruction by the Nazis. Ethan and Esther Moran’s father, Scott, is a commander in the U.S. Navy currently stationed in Iraq.
