Israeli musician Yoel Sharabi to perform locally

The Chabad Jewish Center of Greater St. Petersburg will host its third annual gala, “In Perfect Harmony” on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. in the Nova 535 Art Lounge, 535 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. St., N. St. Petersburg.

In addition to live and silent auctions and a buffet, entertainment will be provided by internationally acclaimed Israeli musician Yoel Sharabi.

Analyst to speak on ‘Muddy Middle East’

The community is invited to attend Temple Ahavat Shalom’s annual fundraising program, this year featuring Micah Halpern, well-known author, columnist, social and political commentator, on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m.

Halpern will speak on “Making Sense of The Muddy Middle East” when he appears at the Palm Harbor temple.

PARK CITY, Utah – Call it the Sundance Synaplex. For 10 days in January, crowds of people flock several times a day to Temple Har Shalom in this picturesque ski town, but they aren’t coming for Shacharit, Mincha or Maariv services.

Instead, the synagogue serves as one of the venues of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, with five screenings daily through Jan. 29.
